CarinaOS vs Mustashio

Their manual tier costs more than our automated one.

Mustashio is a cannabis cultivation platform that, like us, is built for growers rather than sold to enterprises. It positions itself against Trym and Canix — the same two we get weighed against — and it competes on price. So the comparison worth making is a narrow one: what does each of us give you for the money, and where does the other one stop?

The short version, in their numbers and ours: Mustashio’s $350 plan uploads your Metrc reports by hand. Automated sync is their $500 plan. Our hub is $250 with the sync included — half their automated price, and a hundred dollars less than their manual one. Add our full cultivation ERP and it is $350, still a hundred and fifty below what they charge to automate compliance alone.

And if Metrc compliance is the whole job, the gap is wider still. CarinaOS Go is $99 a month — Metrc sync plus the full write action set, from a phone, with a tag scanner. That is the same work their $350 plan asks you to do by hand, for less than a third of the price.

Below: where the money actually goes, what each of us means by “accounting”, and a section on the things Mustashio does that we do not do at all. Every figure is quoted from their own site and dated, and the sources are at the bottom so you can check us.

What you’re paying, plainly.

Both of us are flat-rate per facility. Neither of us meters you by canopy, plant count or seats — that is worth saying because plenty of this category still does, and it is the thing that makes a quoted price meaningless.

Mustashio prices and feature lines quoted from mustashio.com, checked 15 September 2026. CarinaOS prices are on our pricing page. Both are list prices for a single facility; neither includes what your state charges you for Metrc itself.

“Accounting” is doing a lot of work in this category.

This is the real difference between the two products, and it is easy to miss because both feature lists use the same words. Mustashio’s $500 tier includes “Advanced Expense & Profitability Tracking” and an “Expense Data Quickbooks Exporter”. Those are their words, and they are precise ones: it tracks expenses, and it exports them to QuickBooks.

What it is not is a set of books. There is no general ledger under it, so there is nothing to produce a balance sheet from, nothing to age receivables against, and no federal-versus-state position to take. If your bookkeeper wants a trial balance, the export is where the conversation starts rather than ends.

The finance half CarinaOS ERP — $100/mo add-on Mustashio — included at $500

“Not offered” means we could not find it stated anywhere on mustashio.com on 15 September 2026 — not that we tested the product and it was missing. If we have this wrong, tell us and we will correct this page and say that we did.

Where Mustashio genuinely beats us.

This section is on every comparison page we publish. It is short here, and we would rather say why it is short than pad it.

A 90-day trial Ours is 30 days. Theirs is 90, with “full access and full support”. A flower cycle is roughly 63 days — so their trial covers a full run and ours does not. If what you want is to watch one crop all the way through before you pay anybody, that is a real advantage and it is theirs. We are not going to pretend otherwise.

Two things you will see on their feature list that we considered for this section and left out, with our reasoning, so you can disagree with it:

White-glove onboarding They include it on both plans. We will sit with you too — there is a calendar link on every page of this site, and three hardware integrations we set up by hand. The difference is that ours is there when you want it rather than scheduled before you can start. Our pricing page puts it plainly: no discovery call, no onboarding week before anyone touches the software, and no training, because the product is built to be picked up. Included hand-holding is a real cost to somebody — we would rather not need it.
A built-in B2B storefront They ship a wholesale cart and a website builder. We do not, and this is a deliberate gap rather than a backlog item. The number that would justify building one is sell-through — what a listing actually moves — and it is not a figure anyone in this category publishes. Until it is, we would be adding a storefront on the strength of it being on a feature grid. If wholesale ordering through your own site is the problem you are solving, they solve it and we do not; that is worth knowing before you read any further.

What we do that they don’t.

Stated as plainly as the section above, and with the same rule: if it is not on their site, we say we could not find it rather than that it does not exist.

Automated Metrc at the entry price The sync is not a tier with us. Every facility on the $250 hub gets automated Metrc, which is the thing their $350 plan explicitly does not include — it is “Manual METRC Uploads”.
Real books, not an expense export The section above covers it. The short form: they hand your expenses to QuickBooks; we keep a ledger that Metrc, labor and inventory all post into, and hand QuickBooks a two-way sync.

The room, not just the record We read environment and irrigation hardware directly — Growlink, TrolMaster, AROYA, YoLink — so climate, substrate and water land on the same record as compliance and cost. We found no hardware integrations stated on their site.
Nothing to sit through first Sign up, connect Metrc, use it. No discovery call and no onboarding week before anyone touches the software — and no training, because a product a trimmer can be handed is the design goal, not a thing we add help around.
A native app for the crew Metrc actions from a phone, in the room, without a laptop. It is $99/mo on its own, and the mobile app is part of the $250 full platform. CarinaOS Go →

Everything above about Mustashio is quoted from their own public site, read on 15 September 2026. Prices and feature lists move; if you are reading this much later, check the original before you rely on it — and tell us, because a stale comparison page is worse than none.

Mustashio is a trademark of its owner. We are not affiliated with them, this page is our own reading of their public material, and we have tried to state only what they state. Where we say something is “not offered” we mean we could not find it published — if that is wrong we want to know.
